HELSINKI CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC: STUDENT SELECTION RESULTS

BASIC EDUCATION IN MUSIC

Preparatory tuition and the school for young singers

Basic studies, advanced studies and adult tuition

PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW CAREFULLY IF YOU HAVE BEEN SELECTED AS A STUDENT. The list of selected students can be found below.

All new students will receive an email with a link to either enroll for studies or to decline our offer. Please submit your binding reply by 4 PM on Friday June 12th 2020.

Unfortunately we cannot answer any inquiries about the waiting list via phone.

The initial meetings for preparatory tuition are held separately for each instrument on Wednesday August 12th. All enrolled students will receive the exact schedule in early August. The tuition fee is €260.

Students in the school for young singers will receive more information about the beginning of the semester later on. The tuition fee is €260.

Those accepted to study according to the advanced syllabus in music (basic studies, advanced studies and adult tuition) will participate in chamber music, orchestra or choir activities and lessons in music theory and solfège in addition to their own instrument classes as applicable for their age. During the semester, we will assess the students’ aptitude and motivation for a goal-oriented, long-term musical hobby. The tuition fee is €380 per semester. For students whose municipality of residence is not Helsinki, there will be an additional student fee of €200 per semester.

We ask all those who have already completed studies in another music school to send a transcript detailing their previous studies by August 1st 2020 to konservatorio@konservatorio.fi.

Playing an instrument requires the student to have an instrument of their own, and our teachers will provide guidance on acquiring one at the beginning of the semester. The conservatory has a limited number of rental instruments available.

We will provide more information on the practicalities of the autumn semester (agreeing on the lesson schedule with the teacher, signing up for lessons in music theory and solfège, etc.) on our home page and via email by Midsummer (June 19th). With the COVID-19 pandemic in mind, we’re planning to start the semester as safely as possible.
